First Christian Church’s members and friends work throughout the year to maintain a spirit of fellowship, comradeship and love within the congregation founded on a common love for Christ and each other. This is accomplished by:

• Having a strong, welcoming friendship with each other and our guests
• Providing various programs for social interaction
• Having volunteer Greeters welcome visitors at our Sunday worship service
• Fellowship Opportunities:

Sunday Morning Worship Services – Before the service and during the “Welcome” time during the 11:00 am worship service we take a few moments to greet our visitors and each other!

Fellowship Hour To Pot Lucks – Following worship, we gather in Bogan Hall and take more time to visit with each other. We might just have coffee, there may just be cookies, there may be a larger variety of goodies, or – we may have a pot luck luncheon scheduled! In all cases, our guests are always invited to join us.

Chili Cook Off – Volunteer Chefs and Judges along with lots of friends that love to eat chili get together in late October or early November to chow down on various pots of chili.

Pentecost & Congregation Birthday Bash – On Pentecost Sunday, in celebration of the birthday of the church and of the members and friends of the congregation, cake and ice cream are served – But only after everyone sings happy birthday!

Hungry Disciples – The third Wednesday of the month, they provide a meal and various items to Ronald McDonald House and then go out to eat and visit.

There are two opportunities directed at our seniors:

  • Senior Adult Luncheon & Programs – From September through May, on the 2nd Thursday at noon: Our Seniors gather in Bogan Hall for a luncheon followed by a program that may be musical, comedy and even some that are informative / educational. The luncheon includes drinks and dessert; and, as this is not a fundraiser the cost is kept to a minimum.

  • Singles Group – Year round, on 2nd Saturday, time and locations vary: This is not a matchmaking group; rather a group of “mature” friends that are alone for a variety of reasons; and, they enjoy getting together each month in a smaller group. Sometimes they meet at the church for – a Brown-Bag meal, Valentine Bingo, or yearly planning; or, they eat out at local restaurants. And, they also meet occasionally at Dairy Queen for an “Ice Cream Social.”
